"We wanted a dinner party, not a wedding. Sage & Stone delivered the most stunning, intimate evening at a private ranch in Dripping Springs."

— Emma & David, Dripping Springs, TX
A Note From Julianne

I founded Sage & Stone after a decade in the traditional luxury wedding industry. I watched couples spend tens of thousands of dollars to entertain people they barely knew, while sacrificing their own peace of mind.

I believe a wedding is not a performance. It is a profound, private moment. It is about the two of you, standing under a live oak tree, making a promise.

We are here to strip away the noise. Whether you hire us for full planning or just use our guides, our goal is the same: to help you create a memory that feels entirely, unapologetically yours.

1. The Guest List Dilemma

The most difficult part of planning an intimate wedding is not the logistics; it is the guest list. When you choose to downsize, you are forced to confront the difference between who you should invite and who you want to share your day with.

Our rule of thumb: If you wouldn't invite them to a dinner party at your home, don't invite them to the wedding. Do not invite people out of obligation. Have honest conversations early. Most people will understand.

2. Finding Your Sanctuary

The location of an intimate wedding acts as a silent guest. It sets the mood, dictates the flow of the day, and creates the backdrop for your memories. You do not need a traditional venue.

Look for a place that holds meaning to you both. Somewhere that offers privacy and seclusion. A location that doesn't require too much decoration to look beautiful.

3. Dressing for the Moment

Wedding fashion is changing. For intimate weddings, the goal is not to look like a princess; the goal is to look like the most elevated, comfortable version of yourself. Embrace minimalism. Think about the environment. Comfort is key — you want to be present, not adjusting your outfit all day.

4. The Art of Photography

Your photographs are the only thing you will have left after the day is over. For an intimate wedding, documentary photography is almost always the best choice. Look for a photographer whose style is unobtrusive and emotional. Trust them to capture the moments you might miss.

Julianne Reed

Julianne founded Sage & Stone in 2019 after spending a decade in the traditional luxury wedding industry. She realized that the couples who were the happiest on their wedding day were almost never the ones who spent the most money or invited the most people.

Driven by a desire to create something more meaningful, she shifted her focus entirely to elopements and micro-weddings. She believes that intimacy is the ultimate luxury.

Julianne lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, their two dogs, and an ever-growing collection of vintage wedding magazines.

Our Philosophy

Three core values.

Intimacy over Spectacle

We believe that a wedding is not a show. It is a sacred, private moment. We design events that allow you to be fully present with the people you love most.

Authenticity over Tradition

You don't have to wear white. You don't have to cut a cake. We help you build a day that actually reflects your values.

Adventure over Anxiety

Planning a wedding should not be stressful. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the excitement of starting your new life together.
